We offer three different courses.Please check below.

PGCE

This link gives access to basic information about PGCE courses offered by the ITT accredited FIPC and routes to Qualified Teacher Status. 

Applications for the PGCE course are made via the UCAS website and are accepted throughout the year leading up to the course start date as long as vacancies exist. FIPC therefore welcomes enquiries and applications beyond the December deadline. Please contact the Course Administrator for up to date vacancy situation and further information regarding the courses and applications.

The PGCE qualification is recognised outside of the UK.

Once an application has been submitted the next step is to take the Professional Skills Test,   these can be booked through the NCTL website and you will need your application number to register.

School Direct

Please call 020 8501 2089 for information on applying for a place on our course.

The Forest Independent Primary Collegiate is able to support School Direct trainees. School Direct offers salaried and non salaried places. School Direct offers a route to Qualified Teacher Status which is an accepted qualification throughout England. Applications are made through the UCAS website.

Once an application has been submitted the next step is to take the Professional Skills Test, these can be booked through the NCTL website and you will need your application number to register. 

There are two routes through the School Direct programme, salaried and unsalaried. With the salaried route, the salary will be negotiated with the employing school. Schools are obliged to pay for the days worked in the employing school. The unsalaried route has a fee of £9000.

Qualification from the School Direct is a QTS. This qualification enables you to work as a teacher in England.

Middlesex University

The PGCE element of the course is validated by Middlesex University which means that the programme is quality assured by Middlesex University and you will receive a Middlesex award on successful completion. The University also offers FIPC graduates credits toward an MA at MU on completion of the course.

Continuous Professional Development

Students who successfully complete the PGCE course at FIPC may use the credits gained to progress to an MA in Education at Middlesex University.

The PGCE module studied at FIPC ‘Developing Professional Practice’ would contribute 60 credits to the 180 credits to the part time MA course at MU.
